How to Pray for Your Husband: 10 Scriptures to Get You Started
To all my readers who are seeking marriage, soon to be married, or already married, this post is for you! I learned early on in my relationship the power of praying over your husband. I started doing it way before we were married because I wanted to live as it was. So, I started praying for my then-future husband in a prayer journal. I prioritized praying over him and carried it over when I became his wife.
As a wife, praying for your husband is one of the most powerful things you can do for your marriage. It is a way to show your love and support and trust God to care for him. There will be times when your spouse is fighting battles, and they might not even have the words to explain or the clear mind to notice they’re in a war with the enemy. This is where you come in to keep them covered.
When you pray for your husband, you ask God to intervene and bless him in every way. You are also asking God to help you be a better wife to him and him to be a better husband to you. Marriage goes both ways, so cover all areas in prayer. How to Pray for Your Husband
When you pray for your husband, there are a few things you can do to make your prayers more effective:
Be specific. Instead of praying for "God to bless my husband," pray for specific things that you need Him to bless, such as:
His work: Pray that he will be successful in his career and find fulfillment in it.
His health: Pray that he will be healthy and strong and that he will be protected from sickness, hurt, harm, and danger.
His relationships: Pray he will have solid and healthy relationships with his family, friends, and colleagues who respect the boundaries of your marriage.
His spiritual growth: Pray that he will grow in his faith and be led by the Holy Spirit.
Be sincere. Don’t be scared, to be honest with God in your prayers. If you are struggling, tell Him. If you are worried about something, share it with Him. He is your loving Father, and He wants to hear from you.
Pray in faith. Believe that God hears your prayers and that He will answer them. Don't give up praying for your husband, even if you don't see results overnight. God will answer your prayers in His timing.
Here are ten scriptures that you can pray over your husband:
“May have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.” (Ephesians 3:18, NIV)

“to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up” (Ephesians 4:12, NIV)
Pray: Lord, I pray that You would equip my husband for the work of ministry and that he would grow in his knowledge of You. Help him to reach his full potential in Christ.
“Observe people who are good at their work - skilled workers are always in demand and admired; they don't take a back seat to anyone.” (Proverbs 22:29, MSG)
